12 years of marathon racing within the msg Apuseni Marathon, a technical race, which is never forgotten and for which many runners fight to manage to run it at least once in their lives! Being the raison d’être of our sporting event, the marathon is very dear to us and we want it to be an inspiration and a motivator for any runner in Romania and beyond!
Keeping in mind the Olympic motto “Citius, altius, fortius.” (from Latin: Faster, higher, stronger.) members of the powerful team of the Romanian Alpine Club Cluj Branch, then called University Section Cluj, have set up the Apuseni Marathon.
As Mr. Dinu Mitituteanu (founder and creator of the original routes) reports in his blog : “They thought that the Apuseni, mountains smaller than some of ours, but which are loaded with History and Beauty, deserve to have a marathon.” He also says: “The 1st edition took place with over 250 participants. And here we are in 2023, at the 12th edition of the beautiful Apuseni Marathon, already supported since the 2nd edition by msg Systems Romania!
There is a lot to say about the actual route! Currently starting from Șesu Cald at Buscat Ski & Summer Resort, the route continues to Valea Vadului, La Răscruce , Izvorul Belioarei, back to La Răcruce, then to Bocșești and back to the base in Șesu Cald.
